Liza Varma has been part of India’s fashion story for over four decades — first as Miss India, and later as one of the country’s most sought-after fashion show directors. Since 2008, she has also been a proud member of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI).

Over the years, Liza has directed and curated more than 3,500 shows and events in India and around the world. From Cannes and Paris to Dubai and Milan, her work has brought Indian fashion to international stages, always with her signature eye for detail and style.

In 2011, she started the Liza Varma Academy — a space to train and mentor aspiring models and performers. Many of her students have gone on to make their mark, including Miss World Manushi Chhillar and Sushmita Sen.

Now, she’s bringing her biggest idea yet to life — ‘Global Model Icon of the Year’, a first-of-its-kind showcase set aboard a Mediterranean cruise. For Liza, it’s not just about a glamorous event, but about creating a platform where Indian talent can be seen, celebrated, and appreciated on a truly global stage.
